The Australian Federal Police are the special police force which enforce laws legislated under Australian federal jurisdiction or which are otherwise prudent to managed in such a way. This includes worthwhile acts, such as targeting organised crime syndicates and tracking known paedophiles but most controversially they protect us from the big bad terrorists.
The AFP can detain suspects in order to obtain information, which in the former constitutional monarchy of Australia was illegal. Now, thanks to advances in civil liberties research by Earth Government new legislation enacted by John Howard has enabled new and exiting methods of capturing fall guys. These new methods include (but are not limited to) fabricating evidence, misleading the public and gaoling people without charge, even when they seem to be only loosely related to any actual terrorism.
The AFP may gaol you without charge at any time if:
- You've got brown skin
- You lend a SIM card to your cousin
- Your cousin is a terrorist
- You've had tourist photos with your family taken in front of prominent landmarks
- You're muslim
- You're any one of a number of minority groups in Queensland
- You're on to the Earth Government conspiracy, and you're considered notable enough to have an article about you at Wikipedia.
As a matter of fact, people with many cousins are already being monitored closely by the AFP, ASIO, Telstra, Centrelink and quite possibly Google, as the risk of SIM-lending increases markedly in such extended-family scenarios. Of course this may just be another excuse for Earth Government to spy on various ethnicities with closer family ties than safe, repressed ol' Whitey.
