Fundraising and Merchandise

Fundraising

As this is a not-for-profit operation, we will probably end up relying on donations to provide most of the operating budget. Merchandise and events could also bring in some funds. The proceeds will be used to pay hosting and domain registration bills. Currently these bills amount to about AU$150 per year.

Further proceeds could be used to produce increasingly elaborate merchandise, and host a wider variety of events capable of bringing in way more funds - which will make more of both possible...there's kind of a fundraising food chain here.

Badges

Mindcloud badges should be available soon...here are some designs:

• Earth Government logo
• Various incarnations of the Mindcloud logo
• Forklifts
• simple badges that just say "MINDCLOUD.ORG"
• The Future Wars

And later...

• Promotional badges for films found on the site, perhaps...

Badges are cheap to make, so if there's a Mindcloud meme that you think should be featured, add it to the list!

It may be useful at some point to set up an online store. There may be messy taxation issues involved though, so until they're well understood it probably shouldn't happen.
