Good. Wolfowitz was a monster. Everything Earth Government related is outlined in his published doctrine for the last 25 years. Having this man running the worlds default bank, and having the direct control over billions of lives worried me deeply.

What would happen if they give it to BillyG or w:Bono?

Good bye third world debt? BatInTheHat

I dunno if giving it to Billy G or Bono would do much. The world bank finances a truckload of shit worldwide, but the large sums of money are deceptive because they're all tied up in the projects it finances and the debt it has itself. The world bank borrows most of the money it puts into crap, so if they paid off third world debt then no one would lend them the money in the first place because they know the money's not going to be repaid. It would be nice if third world debt were wiped, but that same amount of money put into social projects would probably be a lot better, which is incidentally what the world bank does, they're just notoriously bad at it. Wolfowitz was a bad idea from the beginning, and his involvement in Iraq war planning makes me want to slap him upside the face. Perhaps a good idea for a flash game; Slap your choice of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz once for every disabled veteran of Iraq and a clenched fist punch to the nose for every casualty. Onto a winrar there.

I think Bill gates might make a good world bank chairman, but he's sorta token. There are probably people with a better understanding of economic development projects that could take over. Bill has a sound financial management background from his microsoft days (important when you're issuing huge amounts of debt capital) and some experience in aid organisations and hence would beat the shit out Bono who only really does campaigning. Bono would make a better politician, just not a treasurer. Dr Boy
