Welcome, Bienvenue, Wilkommen
This is the front door of an archive of independent media...
Soon (when there is more content!), a 'search by category' function will be provided, enabling combined search terms such as "FILM and COMEDY".
The following link, Special:Allpages will take you to a page which will help you navigate through Mindcloud. This page is a temporary solution till we come up with something better. Nonetheless, the Special:Allpages function is a rather useful one and can tell you quite a bit about what's on the wiki.
How to use it
When you first link to the page, it will list all of the articles currently on the Mindcloud Wiki in alphabetical order. There is a search bar and a drop-down box with different listing categories that can be displayed.
What the different options in the drop-down box do
All drop-down box options list selected articles and content in alphabetical order unless stated otherwise.
- Main - Lists all currently created articles on the Mindcloud Wiki in alphabetical order.
- Talk - Lists all articles with discussion on their "talk" pages.
- User - Lists all registered Mindcloud Wiki users.
- User Talk - Lists all users with discussion on their "talk" pages.
- Mindcloud - insert description here. im not sure what this one does.
- Mindcloud Talk - Lists all discussion on the Mindcloud wiki page's "talk" page.
- Image - Lists all images uploaded to the Mindcloud wiki.
- Image talk - Lists all images with discussion on their "talk" pages.

- MediaWiki - Lists all discussion on the MediaWiki "talk" pages.
- Template - Lists all templates on the Mindcloud wiki.
- Template talk - Hopefully you should have figured out what it means when one of these things has "talk" written after it.

- Category - Lists all category pages in the Mindcloud wiki. Category pages are effectively sub-directories of wiki articles.

- InvisiblePages - Pages that are invisible. These are usually test pages and the like.
Content Rules
For direct upload/download: Individual files not (much) more than 300KB in size.
For download via torrents (including webseed): Individual files greater than 300KB in size, large collections of smaller files (e.g. gallery of images, collection of musical tracks). The process of creating a torrent file that will webseed is reasonably involved. Instructions on how to do this are here.
Note that both is possible: a thumbnail or sample of the media can be made available for direct upload/download, whilst the original is made available via BitTorrent.
In order to decentralise the content further, every so often an aggregate torrent of all of the smaller files should be created. Perhaps even the larger files could be included. DVDs should also be produced and distibuted to maintain seeding.
Other hosting of files
