Brief Description

Support from furry hat lovers everywhere: Now enjoying cheap hats safe in the knowledge that it put food on the table for someone less fortunate

Make Poverty Profitable is the 2007 movement which replaced the "Make Poverty an Ongoing Feature of Human History and Civilization" campaign (commonly shortened to Make Poverty History), which was previously spurned by Earth Government. Make Poverty Profitable is a new approach which engages businesses seeking lowest cost operations and provides them assistance in finding a suitable nation to set up shop, with the goal of raising the overall standard of living and GDP in the nation over time as the nation becomes more developed through foreign direct investment.

Outline of methodology

MPP aims to aid the development of struggling economies through a direct investment of capital from overseas. This is used to build factories making exiting products for the developed world, such as clothes, soccer balls and surgical equipment.

One reason for the demise of MPH was that, even though the screaming hippies who pushed it wished for people in poverty to be lifted out of poverty, it failed to do the most basic of fundamental tasks and get them a job with through which they could feed and educate their children. Many of the groups involved directly opposed giving jobs to those in need, though it is not clear whether this was based on them being unwilling to teach a man to fish, or whether they were unwilling to give up their own job to a barely paid IT technician in India.

This benefits business, as it provides them lower cost production. It also benefits the host nation, through more tax payments. But most importantly the unemployed and starving people get a job and can pay for food. They don't get paid alot, and it's the job of the host nation to legislate against business going overboard, but you'd be surprised how far $1AUD goes in many countries.
