09/11/2011 - Spamfight continues!

Unfortunately, earlier attempts to combat spam have only been partially successful. It seems the captcha system used in account creation has been long broken by spambots, which is why so many new accounts are being created. The spam blacklist is then only preventing SOME of these bots from saving the spamlink-containing articles they create. I am looking into a more mindcloud-specific captcha system that should defeat all but the human-created spam. This is much better than instituting some kind of approval/vetting step in the account creation, closing it off to the hypothetical casual mindcloud reader who might finally have something to say.

Anyhow, some changes to the main page layout have been done by me; new logos have sprouted from its fertile soil. Some of the extensions are still broken, and I'm only half-arsedly working to fix that. I still can't remember all of the tags and other textual wrangling required to make these things work! This is a sign that things were getting too complicated, while leaving the wiki vulnerable to formatting errors with each software update. The 'fixing' may consist of removing broken tags, rather than trying to reattach the limbs of mortally-wounded extensions.

Anyhow, with that gristle in mind, happy reading/writing!
