Tristan Miller's car

FOR SALE; Runs well, suit project car enthusiast. TJMcar.jpg

My Car is a 1991 Daihatsu Charade CX, with a four-cylinder, 16 valve, 1.3L, fuel injected unleaded petrol engine. The car's exterior is filthy, and hard to wash due to the missing rear-quarter window (smashed out by pirates who desperately needed the plastic sword on the back seat of the car). The car has recently been serviced; the engine no longer misfires at low revs but the very slow oil-burnoff continues unabated. The CV joint on the right side has some recurring problem which nobody has been able to identify...

Oh well, the car is 15 years old. I still get around 6L per 100km fuel economy, meaning I can make it to Melbourne on a tank and a half of petrol, with fuel to spare. Think what it will be able to do when I get it finally get it fixed up! That missing window probably accounts for a significant amount of energy loss.

One other 'feature': I installed a reverse beeper, a move which I regret now, but not enough to actually remove the thing. The thing is louder inside than out, and oh how I titter gleefully when someone occupying the seat closest to the beeper gets deafened by it and swings a conveniently nearby bottle at my head.

Update 07/04/2007

In the spirit of Easter, I have resurrected my Car. It has spent the last few months without movement, as the registration expired. The filth issue is confined to the exterior, because I cleaned it out shortly before it became inert. The annoying beeper is noticeably absent; I must have disabled it at some point (probably due to extreme irritation of me).

By 'filth issue' I mean that the car has a coating of brown grit, as if it was wet then was plowed through a slightly greasy dirt-pile. Washing this off is a matter of soaking and peeling, in addition to the more conventional rinsing.

The battery was ruined. The RAA replaced it at great cost.

Now the car is running well, maintaining its quite excellent fuel economy. The lack of power steering will help to build my upper body strength. THIS WAS BORT AN INTERESTING UPDATE.
